Best Browser
Click on that ‘E’ button at the corner of your screen then wait as Internet Explorer whizzes into cyberspace. Some years ago, that’s all the effort and thought most needed to give to web browsing. Very few brave techies craved something that was ‘more exotic’ compared to IE. IE dominated the web browser field for several years, mainly due to it coming pre-installed with every single Windows operating system.
Currently, approximately forty per cent of web users surf on Internet Explorer in spite of the host of rival web browsers showing up and its wobbly past security issues. However, IE does continuously make improvements. In fact, recent reviews have commended IE 9 as the safest and fastest version in this browser’s extremely long shelf life.
For the last 6 years, Firefox has been out on the loose stealing away more and more of the attention in the web browser market from IE. Reviewers love this one. Although Firefox isn’t the fastest browser on the market, it is very fast and displays better customizability than other browsers. It sports more than six thousand available plug-ins and add-ons that enable the user to use Firefox for more different things than any other browser.
However, Firefox just barely edges out with Google Chrome that launched in 2008. Similar to Google’s flexible search engine, Chrome functions efficiently and sports a simplistic look.
Web browsers like Opera and Safari are less popular. However, reviews of these read them as capable adversaries. However, it can’t be denied that the masses simply didn’t fall in love with Safari 5. Opera, too, occupies a very small percentage of the browser market.
A large amount of debate will always exist over which browser REALLY is the best. As giants such as Google and Microsoft consistently revamp their browsers and add in extra features, it will always be a race to attain the ‘top browser’ title between Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, and Firefox. It is important to weigh up the pros and cons before choosing your favorite browser.
